Visual Effects

Vertical videos

As part of my creative experiments, I set myself a challenge: improving my skills in special effects on After Effects by creating two vertical videos. This format, very popular on social media, requires thinking differently about storytelling and staging. I chose to work on dynamic sequences combining live action footage and digital visual effects, with the goal of refining my ability to integrate complex effects into a coherent and fluid result.

The first video was inspired by the series Umbrella Academy, in which I recreated a teleportation effect. I filmed my sister and worked on the compositing to give her the illusion of instantly disappearing before reappearing in another place. This project allowed me to strengthen my skills in tracking, masking, and particle management. The second video featured the creation of a magical shield capable of deflecting bullets, mixing light animation and compositing. This second challenge particularly pushed me to work on synchronizing the effects with the camera movements and physical interactions.
